I have been looking for a long time books adapted to ESOL readers. These books are excellent. I have also encouraged my library to stock them.

great for ESOL literacy learners

I use these books with my ESOL literacy learners and they love them! I wonder if there are any plans for a new set that would be themed for male learners?

Whole series

I have used this series with my adult ESOL class, most of whom were pre-literate in their own language when they came to us. They have been thrilled to actually read a book for the first time. The topics are all relevant to their daily lives so they can identify with them. In conjunction with the illustrations, it has helped the ladies to understand that information can be extracted from a text.
My only complaint - our local library says they do not deal with Gatehouse books, so they cannot supply them.
Gatehouse, please could you target our local libraries?
Many thanks!

New East Enders Series

These books are ideal for Pre-Entry ESOL learners to start reading something other than worksheets. They are all written in the present tense, using vocabulary that students find useful, related to every day situations about every day people. I bought a whole set, and now my students are borrowing them and reading them at home. The illustrations are good too. It is so nice to be able to buy simple readers designed for adults and not have to use children's books to teach adults.
