    The Missing Cat

This is just what an ESOL tutor and learner need - with photos and short text from an everyday context. It also gives a sense of achievement when a learner can read a whole book.

    Educational and entertaining

Lovely books for ESOL teaching with some great pictures. It's not always easy to find picture heavy English language resources which are suitable for adults, but these books are perfect! The comedic element to the books and lively characters means students (and teachers) can have a chuckle whilst they learn. In addition, the speech bubbles and small amount of text per page makes learning accessible for lower level English students and means that learners don't feel overwhelmed by big chunks of text.

    Love these books!

I discovered these books in the local library. They are fabulous for my low level literacy learners and full of humour. Students like them because they touch on everyday topics they can relate to. Please can we have more like this!

    Fab new books!

The new Liz and Joe books have gone down really well with our ESOL learners and the books were all borrowed in a couple of days from the College library. As a Librarian, it is great to find some reading books that are aimed at entry level adult students, with pictures to help tell the story, along with engaging and humorous plotlines. In particular enjoyed reading ‘Liz goes to the hairdressers'; Joe's facial expressions are hilarious whilst he is waiting for Liz to decide what haircut to have. Well done Jennie!

    Great characters

I use the Liz and Joe books with my adult learners. They love reading about the characters and find them funny. The photos make for a realistic read, allowing my learners to identify with the characters. They are particularly fond of Joe's Surprise, as they loved seeing photos of the market.
