Read & Grow at Brune Park Community College

Read and Grow is a reading scheme designed to support Year 7 students with their reading. Six Year 11 students and six 
Year 7 students were paired up together, with Year 11 students acting as coaches [using Yes We Can Read]. This scheme has proved to be so successful that Caroline Dinenage, the local MP, invited staff and a Year 11 student to visit the Houses of Parliament to present their work to Education Ministers.

On Tuesday 5 March, Joseph Edmunds went to London and gave a presentation. Joseph spoke clearly, fluently and with 
confidence in front of a very intimidating audience. He was a credit to Brune Park and should be duly proud of upholding 
the school’s reputation for learning.
