Edge Hill Book Launch

Edge Hill University's Faculty of Education today celebrated the publication of I teach... : Journeys into Teaching with a book launch which was attended by students, lecturers and their families.

The Dean, Robert Smedley, gave an inspiring opening speech in which he commended the editorial team for their dedication and commitment to produce such a remarkable book, to which trainee teachers, teachers, tutors and lecturers from across the North West have contributed.

The editorial team - Catherine Shiel, Craig Gelling, Bernard Sheridan and Senior Lecturer Vicky Duckworth - each spoke movingly about the impact of the project and their role in bringing the book together. 

Ray Dwerryhouse, Assistant Head of Post-Compulsory Education and Training, spoke of the challenges we face in our changing world and highlighted the value of I teach... in inspiring the educators of the future. I teach... will be recommended reading for all new teacher trainees across the various University faculties.

"We are proud that the Faculty of Education at Edge Hill University has linked with the Helena Kennedy Foundation, a Registered charity established to encourage social inclusion and widening participation in further and higher education by awarding bursaries to deserving students.
