A multimedia resource based on one of our most popular beginner readers, The Creature, which will appeal to both tutors and readers alike. A simply structured, but visually stimulating and feature-packed CD-Rom, which allows tutors to meet the needs of a mixed ability group of learners. CD-Rom Readers are suitable for use with learners at Pre-Entry Level and Entry Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Adult Literacy Core Curriculum. - Choose the reading level – standard text, simplified text or pictures-only. - Choose how the text is highlighted on the screen – sentence or word. - Choose the audio reading speed – normal speaking rate for listening or a slow read, for reading along. - Animated full-colour illustrations. - Choose the text and background colour to assist the visually impaired or learners with dyslexia. - For use with a mouse, touch screen or interactive white board. On each page of the story, the learner can activate animated illustrations, highlight words or sentences and hear them spoken, repeat the audio, move backwards and forward in the story and print whatever is on the screen at the time. The CD-Rom also includes a range of resources including tutor activity sheets and printable student worksheets, mapped to the Adult Literacy Core Curriculum.
